SOUND DESIGN

The Speech Recording Studio is an experienced studio facility that specialises in all aspects of spoken word.

Mixing the best of Analogue and Digital recording techniques:

- Microphones by Neumann (U87Ai TLM170), Earthworks and others. Stereo techniques - I love to use M/S stereo it's so flexible.
- Digital Recording. My preferred technique uses a good Analogue Mic amp and Mixer connected to Samplitude. Samplitude is a first class DAW (digital recorder and editor). Samplitude offered a wide range of good facilities.
- Outside the studio. SRS and friends can provide you with a wide variety of audio based experience. Go on, get recordings made correctly and see the benifits in your customer satisfaction.

A return to Analogue?

There seems to be something of a revival in the use of Analogue recording techniques:

I'm not the only engineer to think that the combination of: BASF 911 tape, 1/4in Studer A80 15ips stereo and Dolby SR probably produced some of the best recordings ever.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to throw away my digital editors - 24bit recordings are very good, but now there is a growing band of small studios that are mostly Analogue.  The clients love it too...
